Gap Monitoring
Gap Monitoring provides a zoom-in view of the received packet stream. It is used to detect gaps in the packet stream that exceed a configured threshold, which is either caused by packet loss or by sudden increase in delay. The gap monitor is configured with a gap-start and gap-stop criteria.
The gap-start and gap-stop criteria for the port’s gap monitor. The gap monitor expects a steady stream of incoming packets, and detects larger-than-allowed gaps between them. Once a gap event is encountered it requires a certain number of consecutive packets below the threshold to end the event.
